What Office Cleaning Actually Covers

Office cleaning is the routine cleaning of a workplace that is occupied every day, worked to a fixed schedule so desks, floors, kitchens and washrooms are dealt with before your team arrives rather than around them. Offices in Cardiff, Swansea and across South Wales sit on daily, several-times-weekly or weekly rounds, with deeper periodic tasks stacked on top at agreed intervals.

An office contract is unusual in one respect: it is inspected every morning by everybody who works in the building. Nobody comments on a clean carpet, but a kitchen bin that was not emptied or a washroom without hand towels is noticed inside an hour and remembered for a fortnight. That is why an office specification is written task by task, with the daily, weekly and periodic work separated out, and why the crew on your floor stays the same.

The Office Cleaning We Carry Out

Desks, workstations and open-plan floors

Surfaces cleared where a clear-desk policy allows, monitors, keyboards and phones wiped, bins emptied and re-lined, floors vacuumed. Hot-desking and bench layouts are handled to whatever desk policy you run, agreed in writing so nothing personal is moved that should not be.

Washrooms

Sanitised, descaled, floors mopped and consumables restocked on every visit. In an occupied office this is the task that decides whether the contract feels well run.

Kitchens and break areas

Worktops, sinks, fronts of appliances, tables and floors, with bins emptied and taken to your collection point. Fridge and microwave interiors on a periodic cycle.

Meeting and training rooms

Turned round between bookings where the schedule allows, with tables, chairs, screens and glass reset so the room is presentable for the next group.

Hard floors and carpeted areas

Vacuumed on the daily round, with machine scrubbing of hard floors booked separately so heavy work never happens during your working day.

Internal glass, reception and high-touch points

Partitions, entrance glass, reception desks, handles, switches, handrails and lift buttons.

The offices we clean run from small professional suites of a few desks, through open-plan floors and multi-floor corporate buildings, to co-working space and managed offices held by landlords and facilities managers across several units. The task sheet changes with the layout; the discipline behind it does not.

Multi-use premises with a retail, hospitality or public-facing element usually sit better on our commercial cleaning service.

How an Office Cleaning Schedule Is Built and Run

We walk the floors with you

Desk count, washrooms, kitchens, floor types, meeting rooms and the areas your staff complain about first.

We split the work

Daily tasks, weekly tasks and periodic tasks are separated, so you can see exactly what happens every night and what happens every quarter.

We agree access and security

Entry time, keys, fobs, alarm codes and who is notified on site are all settled before the first visit.

The crew runs the schedule

The same people, working the same task sheet, in the same order each visit.

We inspect, then review with you

Sites are checked against their own specification, and the schedule is adjusted as your office changes.
Why choose us

Why Offices in Cardiff and Swansea Choose CrewConnect

A clean office is a workplace duty as much as a courtesy. Regulations 20 and 21 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require sanitary conveniences and washing facilities to be kept clean and in an orderly condition, and Regulation 9 requires floors and surfaces to be cleaned at suitable intervals. Absence carries a real cost alongside it: the Office for National Statistics estimated that 185.6 million working days were lost to sickness or injury across the UK in 2022. Shared kitchens, washrooms and high-touch points are the places an office contract earns its keep.

CrewConnect is SafeContractor approved and veteran-owned, and every crew member is DBS checked before working on a client site. Out-of-hours access is normal here rather than an exception, because cleaning operations run 24 hours a day.

About the Founders, Jack Davies and Max Rahman

CrewConnect Cleaning was founded by Jack Davies and Max Rahman, who between them price the office contracts and brief the crews, with a dedicated point of contact holding every schedule once it is running. Jack is a veteran, and the company was set up around the standards habits that come with that: written specifications, vetted people and checks that are scheduled rather than remembered.

An office contract is marked every single morning by everyone who works there. Nobody mentions the floor, but they notice the kitchen and the washroom before nine. The CrewConnect standard, in one line

How an Office Cleaning Quote Is Built

Office cleaning is quoted against the building and the schedule, not against a headline rate. What moves the figure is cleanable floor area, how many nights a week we are in, washroom and kitchen count, floor type, and whether access is inside or outside normal hours. A written quote sets out:

Quotes are free, and variations are agreed in writing first.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in your office cleaning service?+
A standard daily or weekly round covers desks and workstations, bins emptied and re-lined, kitchens and break areas, washrooms sanitised and restocked, hard floors and carpeted areas, internal glass, reception, and high-touch points such as handles, switches and lift buttons. Meeting-room resets and machine floor work are added as periodic tasks in the same specification.
How much does office cleaning cost per hour in the UK?+
Most published UK office cleaning figures are quoted per square metre rather than per hour, typically around £1.50 to £4.00 per square metre for routine work and roughly £2.15 to £3.20 per square metre for a deep clean. Your figure depends on area, frequency, washroom count and access hours, so we survey the office and quote a monthly total.
Do you clean out of hours to avoid disrupting our team?+
Yes, and it is how most of our office contracts run. Early mornings, evenings, overnight and weekends are all available because cleaning operations run 24 hours a day. Keys, fobs, alarm codes, entry times and who gets notified are agreed at the survey and written into the schedule before the first visit.
How often should an office be professionally cleaned?+
It depends on headcount and how the space is used rather than on floor area. Busy open-plan offices with shared kitchens and washrooms usually need a daily round; smaller or partly remote teams often work well on two or three visits a week. Washrooms are the deciding factor: once they are in daily use, they need daily attention.
Do you clean shared kitchens and break rooms?+
Yes, on every visit. Worktops, sinks, appliance fronts, tables, chairs and floors are done on the routine round, with bins emptied and taken to your collection point. Fridge and microwave interiors, and descaling, sit on a periodic cycle so they are diarised rather than left until somebody complains.
Can you provide a bespoke cleaning schedule for our office?+
Yes. Every office specification is written from scratch after the site walk. You decide what happens nightly, weekly and periodically, whether desks are cleared under a clear-desk policy, how hot-desking areas are treated, and which rooms are reset between bookings. The agreed sheet goes to the crew, and you hold a copy of it. Contracts are built around your operation rather than a lock-in, so the schedule flexes as the office does.
Do you offer deep cleaning as well as regular maintenance?+
Yes. Periodic deep cleaning covers machine floor work, internal glass, kitchen appliance interiors, washroom descaling and high-level dusting. It can be booked into a running contract at a set frequency, or as a standalone job before a move, an audit, an office refit or a return-to-work date.
Which cleaning products do you use in our offices?+
The products we use are eco-friendly as standard, chosen because they deal with grease, bacteria and everyday soiling without leaving harsh chemical residue in a room your team works in all day. They are also selected for the surfaces in your building, and everything is COSHH-compliant, with COSHH information for anything used on site available before work starts. If you need particular products used, or particular ones avoided because of a policy, a sensitivity or an existing supplier agreement, that goes into the specification rather than being handled informally.
