What Warehouse Cleaning Covers

Warehouse cleaning is the scheduled cleaning of a storage or distribution building and everything in it that collects dust and debris: the traffic floor, the racking, mezzanine decks, loading bays and the steelwork overhead. Warehouse cleaning in Swansea and across South Wales is bought by site and operations managers, and the constraint is always the same. The building does not stop.

That single fact shapes the whole job. A warehouse has two planes that get neglected, and both are neglected for the same reason. The floor is under constant mechanical handling traffic, so there is never an obvious moment to close an aisle. Everything above head height needs planned access, so it slides down the list until an audit or an insurance inspection raises it. Cleaning a warehouse properly means sequencing both around an operation that keeps running.

The Warehouse Cleaning We Carry Out

Warehouse floors

Machine scrubbing of aisles, pick faces and circulation routes, degreasing where MHE traffic has laid down oil and rubber, spill residue removal and anti-slip treatment on surfaces polished smooth by wheels.

Loading bays and dock areas

Pressure washing, rubber and tyre mark removal, edge and channel clearance, and the dead corners behind dock levellers that a routine sweep never reaches.

Racking systems

Dust and debris removed from beams, uprights and top-tier racking, worked aisle by aisle so stock stays protected and the operation keeps flowing around us.

Mezzanine floors and decks

Deck surfaces, edge protection, stairs and handrails, plus the underside of the mezzanine, which is one of the most consistently missed surfaces in any distribution building.

High-level cleaning

Steelwork, purlins, ductwork, sprinkler pipework, extraction and lighting, planned as a separate task and reached on our own cherry pickers and scissor lifts with MEWP-trained operators, rather than improvised on the day.

Welfare, canteens and washrooms

Break areas, canteens, washrooms and office space attached to the warehouse floor, on the same visit or a separate schedule.

All the equipment is ours: ride-on floor scrubbers sized to the span, industrial pressure washers for bays and external hard standing, industrial vacuums for fine dust and debris, and cherry pickers and scissor lifts for everything above head height. We carry our own power supply for sites without a convenient outlet, so you do not need to provide anything beyond site access.

Production and process environments need a different method again, and sit on our industrial cleaning service.

Recent Warehouse and Factory Cleaning in South Wales

Recent work in large-format buildings across South Wales has centred on machine floor cleaning across big open spans, with high-level and racking work booked into quieter windows. Further examples sit on our work gallery.

Why Professional Warehouse Cleaning Pays Off

Your operation keeps running while we cleanWork is sequenced aisle by aisle around pick faces, MHE routes and delivery windows.

The floor stops being a hazardMachine scrubbing and degreasing deal with the film that builds up under wheeled traffic.

High level gets done, not deferredIt is quoted and diarised as its own task with its own access plan.

Your stock stays protectedRacking is cleaned in sections, with debris controlled rather than dropped onto pallets below.

Audits and inspections stop being a scrambleThe building is already in the condition an inspector expects to find.

How a Warehouse Cleaning Job Is Sequenced

We walk the building

Floor area and surface, racking layout and height, mezzanine decks, bay count, MHE traffic routes and the areas your team already flags.

We map it against your operation

Shift changeovers, pick patterns, delivery and collection windows, and which aisles can realistically be released and when.

You get a written scope and quote

Zone by zone, with the floor work, racking, mezzanine and high-level tasks priced separately so you can phase them if you prefer.

We clean in sections

Aisles are taken and handed back in agreed blocks, signed and barriered, so your operation moves around a known area rather than a moving one.

We hand the building back clear

Equipment out, waste removed, zones released.
Why choose us

Why Site Managers Choose CrewConnect for Warehouse Cleaning

The overhead work is where a warehouse cleaning contractor is really tested. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply wherever a fall could cause injury, and they require the work to be properly planned, appropriately supervised and carried out by competent people, with the right equipment selected for the task. That is not a formality: falls from height remain the most common cause of fatal injury to workers in Great Britain, accounting for 35 of the 124 worker deaths recorded in 2024/25 on the Health and Safety Executive's provisional figures. High-level cleaning is therefore quoted as its own task, with its own access plan, rather than folded into a floor price and rushed.

CrewConnect is SafeContractor approved, crews are DBS checked, and the company is veteran-owned, which on a live distribution site mostly means one thing: the sequence agreed on Monday is the sequence run on Thursday.

About the Founders, Jack Davies and Max Rahman

Jack Davies and Max Rahman founded CrewConnect Cleaning and walk every large-format building themselves before quoting it. Jack is a veteran, and the operating habits behind the company come from that: plan the work, brief the crew, run the sequence as agreed.

Nobody stops a warehouse for a clean, so the job has to fit the operation. We work the aisles the pickers are not in, and take the high level when the bay is quiet. The CrewConnect standard, in one line

What a Warehouse Cleaning Quote Includes

Warehouse work is quoted zone by zone, because floor area alone tells you very little once racking height, MHE traffic and access windows are known. Every quote is written before work starts and separates:

Site visits and quotes are free, and phased programmes are priced the same way.

floor scrubbing and degreasing, by zone and surface
loading bay and dock area work
racking cleaning, by run and by tier
mezzanine decks and undersides
high-level cleaning, with the access arrangement stated

Frequently asked questions

What is included in a warehouse cleaning service?+
Typically machine floor scrubbing and degreasing, loading bay and dock cleaning, racking dusting through the tiers, mezzanine decks and undersides, high-level work on steelwork, ductwork and lighting, and the welfare, canteen and washroom areas attached to the floor. Every element is scoped and priced separately after a site visit, so you can take the whole programme or phase it.
How often should a warehouse be deep cleaned?+
Most distribution buildings sit well on a quarterly deep clean with lighter floor maintenance in between, though it is driven by MHE traffic volume, whether goods generate dust or fibre, and any audit cycle you work to. High-level and racking work often runs on a longer interval than the floor, which is why the two are quoted separately.
Do you provide floor scrubbing and degreasing?+
Yes, and it is the single most requested task in a warehouse. Our ride-on scrubbing machines are specified against the floor area and surface at survey, with degreasing agents chosen for the residue actually on the slab rather than a default product. Anti-slip treatment can be applied once a polished surface has been properly stripped and cleaned.
Can you clean high-level racking, rafters and lighting?+
Yes, and it is planned as its own task under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, on our own cherry pickers and scissor lifts with MEWP-trained operators, chosen for the building and the racking layout. Top-tier racking, purlins, steelwork, ductwork, sprinkler pipework and light fittings are all included. Work is sequenced so debris is controlled and stock beneath is protected or moved first.
Do you work around shift patterns and delivery schedules?+
That is how the work gets done at all. Cleaning operations run 24 hours a day, so crews go in at shift changeover, overnight, at weekends or during a planned shutdown. We stay clear of active bays during deliveries, take aisles in agreed blocks, and hand each zone back before opening the next.
What equipment do you use for warehouse cleaning?+
Ride-on floor scrubbers sized to the building, industrial vacuums with fine-dust filtration, industrial pressure washers for bays and external hard standing, and cherry pickers or scissor lifts with MEWP-trained operators for the high-level element of the job. All of it is ours, so you do not need to provide anything beyond site access, and we carry our own power supply where a building has no convenient outlet. What is coming on site is confirmed in the quote, so nothing arrives unannounced.
